After the disappointing Halloween of 1981, Troy began making plans for something more ambitious than another Halloween appearance. He and Tim started discussing the possibility of holding another concert, this time as a benefit to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.

The concert would give the group an opportunity to perform in front of an audience again while supporting a worthwhile cause.

During the planning stages, Troy spoke with Joey, and it appeared that Joey might be returning to the group. Troy also tried to arrange for the concert to be held in the auditorium at Patterson Elementary School.

By late July, however, the group received word that the auditorium would not be available. At the same time, they were having difficulty getting a firm commitment from Joey.
With no venue secured, no complete lineup, and time running short, the plans for the benefit concert were abandoned.

The group then turned its attention to Halloween. There was still enough time to organize an appearance, and Troy hoped they could make it another successful year.

The costumes remained relatively simple compared with those of earlier years, making them easier to construct. Troy was also living back in the Bay Area, which made coordinating preparations much easier.

Troy recruited Tim's brother, Mark Branson, to take over the role of Ace Frehley. Charles Duck also returned to the group, this time portraying Eric Carr.

Costume construction went smoothly, with only a few finishing touches remaining on Halloween day.

On Halloween, the group gathered at Troy's house and began getting ready early in the afternoon. By approximately 6:00 p.m., everyone was dressed and ready to go.

Before heading out, they spent about half an hour posing for photographs.

Once the photo session was finished, the guys visited friends and family before heading to Olivera Elementary School, the only school holding a Halloween carnival that night.

The group attracted some attention at Olivera, although nothing approaching the excitement they had experienced in previous years.

After spending some time at the carnival, they returned to Troy's house, where they took a few more photographs before calling it a night.

Halloween 1982 had been an enjoyable evening, even if it hadn't lived up to the group's hopes. It was nowhere near as successful as 1978 or 1980, but the guys were happy to have spent another Halloween together as KISS.

The Halloween 1982 lineup consisted of Mark Branson as Ace Frehley, Tim Branson as Paul Stanley, Troy Correia as Gene Simmons, and Charles Duck as Eric Carr.

In October, KISS had released a new album titled Creatures of the Night. No photos of the band in their new costumes surfaced until November. The photos revealed that KISS were back to wearing wild costumes. This set the wheels turning for Troy to look forward to another year of the KISS Impersonators.
